Focus on ice, snow load and ventilation.
- Watch for ice dams at eaves, particularly in northern and western Virginia
- Check for icicles forming at gutters, which often indicate attic heat loss
- Avoid walking on cold, brittle roofing
- Inspect after any heavy snow or ice event
